The young boy suffered severe head injuries and was immediately rushed to Sally Mugabe Central Hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Father’s Disappointment: Lack of Remorse

Despite Phillip’s heroic actions, Takunda’s father, Kelvin Nyandoro, expressed his disappointment with Phillip’s lack of remorse. He believed that the attack could have been prevented if Phillip had properly controlled his dogs. Kelvin also mentioned that Phillip is currently evading authorities, and neither he nor his parents have contributed anything towards the hospital bills.

“My child sustained serious head injuries, is traumatised and is even showing signs of being disturbed by the incident. Had he not kept his head down during the attack, the vicious dog could have cut off his throat. What is disturbing me is the attitude shown by Phillip. Besides failing to lead his dogs, he disappeared from his house and never showed any remorse. His parents are also not forthcoming, as well as the investigating police officer. Ndiri mushandi anotambura asina mari apa mwana wangu arikuda mari yakawanda yekuti arapwe, vakamurumisa nembwa dzavo havasikubatika,” said Kelvin.

Efforts to contact Phillip for his version of events were unsuccessful. The case has been reported to the Machipisa Police Station, where it is under investigation.
