Former Zimbabwean cricketer Guy Whittall is lucky to be alive after getting attacked by a leopard.

Guy Whittall found himself in a life-threatening situation when he was attacked by a leopard while trekking through the conservancy he runs with his father in southeast Zimbabwe.

However, Guy’s close encounter with death took a miraculous turn, all thanks to his brave, loyal dog companion – K9 Chikara, who came to his rescue.

Gratitude for Chikara’s Heroism: Hannah Stooks-Whittall Highlights Dog’s Role in Saving Guy’s Life

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Hannah Hannah Stooks-Whittall revealed how their dog K9 Chikara bravely intervened and fought off the leopard, ultimately saving Guy’s life. Despite sustaining injuries in the process, Chikara’s swift action prevented a potentially fatal outcome for Guy.

“He was so fortunate that Chikara was there to help him and get the leopard off him; otherwise, who knows how it might have ended…Fortunately, Guy is up in bed and talking. He’s telling anyone who will listen how he wrestled with a leopard, but we all know it was down to Chikara.”

Expressing her gratitude for Chikara’s heroic actions, Hannah emphasized Guy’s fortunate escape from the leopard attack. She highlighted Chikara’s bravery and credited him with ensuring Guy’s safety.

While Guy recuperates from his injuries, Chikara is set to receive special treats and veterinary care for his injuries sustained during the encounter.

We are so grateful to him, and Chikara going to get some extra chicken as a treat. He’s got to see the vet as he has a few scratches and but he should be ok; he’s in better shape than Guy,” she added.

Wife’s Facebook Update: Guy Whittall Hospitalized and Awaited Surgery After Leopard Attack

Taking to Facebook, Guy Whittal’s wife, Hannah, revealed that her husband had a run in with a wounded leopard. She revealed that her husband is currently hospitalized at Milton Park, where he is receiving treatment and awaits surgery.

We are very fortunate that he was stabilized at Hippo Clinic by wonderful staff. He was then Airlifted from Buffalo Range by Ace Ambulance to Harare and then transferred to Milton Park Hospital for treatment.
He is currently awaiting surgery tomorrow morning as he lost a lot of blood today.
We will know more tomorrow when they remove bandages in Theatre,” reads her post.
