CAPS United defender Eric Manokore wants the Green Machine to have a strong ending to their Castle Lager Premiership campaign.

Makepekepe will end the season without a trophy after they missed out on both the league championship and the Chibuku Super Cup.

However, there have been some success stories this season.

They finally found a way to beat bitter rivals Dynamos in the league.

The emergence of Junior Bunjira has also been a refreshing tale for the Green Machine.

The tricky winger followed his father’s path yesterday when he was called into the Warriors squad for the CHAN qualifiers.

The Green Machine are in sixth place, tied on 42 points with Herentals, and Chicken Inn.

They will face log leaders Simba Bhora before taking on TelOne, Chegutu Pirates and Ngezi Platinum.

“Success is often determined by the level of effort and commitment we put as players into our performances,” said Manokore.

“Considering that we are seeking a top-four finish now, the whole squad should shift and focus on collecting maximum points.

“As a team, we have always reminded each other that there is no room for complacency but everyone should show willingness to push beyond limits in every moment of the game.

“We don’t have to forget the physical and mental awareness part, as a team we need to be in our best form in all aspects of the game.

“In all those aspects, I have always told myself I should lead by example and fight for the badge of the club through thick and thin.

“So, every day, I have asked myself to give more and also expect that from everyone at the club.”

Against Bulawayo Chiefs, Manokore was the team’s captain after Godknows Murwira was stripped of the armband.
