3 ways to make pizza without an oven and yeast

How we all love pizza! It is one dish that is loved by people of all ages. Many people with an oven and yeast in their kitchen can easily make this Italian delight at home.

But did you know that you can make pizza at home even without an oven and yeast? Why one, let us give you 5 ways to make pizza without an oven or yeast!

1. Pan Pizza with baking soda & lemon juice

For making this pizza, all you need is a non-stick or cast iron pan and some ingredients. Start by making the dough. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups all-purpose flour, ¾ cup lukewarm water, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp baking soda and ½ tsp lemon juice. Knead a soft dough, cover with an inverted bowl and let it rise for 20-25 minutes. Pound the dough so it gets stretchy. Mould in the shape of the pizza base. Put 2 tbsp oil in a non-stick pan, put the pizza base in and after 3-4 minutes, flip the base. Lower the flame and cover with ketchup or marinara sauce. You can choose any vegetarian or non-vegetarian topping and mozzarella cheese for your pizza. Cover with lid and cook for 4-5 minutes until the toppings cook and cheese melts.

2. Grilled Pizza with sourdough starter

You can make this recipe in a grilling machine or a stovetop grill rack. To make your own sourdough starter, just add 600 grams all-purpose flour with 2 ½ cups water. Cover and leave at room temperature. Next day, again add 600 grams all-purpose flour with the same amount of water. Mix well, cover and leave out again. Repeat the same process for the next 3 days. Each day you will notice bubbles forming, which means the yeast is fermenting the dough. You can store it in an airtight container in the fridge for maximum 5 days. Use a half-cup of sourdough starter in your pizza dough to replace 1 tsp of yeast. Make pizza base like usual. Oil a stovetop grilling rack and put the pizza base over it. Flip when toasted on one side, add sauces, toppings and cheese. Cover and cook on low flame for 3-4 minutes.

3. Milk + Vinegar + Baking soda pizza

Adding lemon juice to your pizza might not seem preferable for some people. You can mix ½ tsp milk, ½ tsp vinegar and ½ tsp baking soda to your pizza dough instead of yeast to get the same effect. You can let the dough rest for 10 minutes before heading to make the pizza base, but it will rise will cooking nonetheless. You can either make this as a pan pizza or if you want a proper pizza feel, cook it in a deep vessel with lots of cheese like number 2!
