Parirenyatwa Group Of Hospitals Reports 44 Fake Doctors And Workers From 2023

Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals has made a startling revelation, uncovering a total of 44 individuals posing as doctors and staff members in an attempt to exploit patients since 2023.

In an official statement circulated via social media, the hospital disclosed that over the course of 16 months, their security team apprehended 44 impostors across various departments.

According to their statement, the impostors were posing as doctors, nurses or nursing school teachers. This was all in a bid to prey on patients and desperate potential students.

In the statement shared by the hospital, they clearly stated that:

Parirenyatwa Group of hospitals is a vast institutiom with close tp 400 Doctors of all professional levels and a total staff establishment of close to 4000. Unscrupulous people take advantage of our vastiness and complexity to carry out nefarious activities.

Recent Investigation Results

PGH conducted thorough investigations, revealing that the three recently apprehended individuals masquerading as doctors had not attended to any patients during their fraudulent tenure.

The hospital asserted its unwavering commitment to maintaining public trust, affirming that surveillance efforts will persist to identify and remove individuals seeking to exploit the institution.

Profile of Apprehended Impostors

  • Andrew Mapulanga (52): Apprehended on 15 April by a vigilant security officer at Parirenyatwa Hospital.
  • Blessing Nyanzira (24): Arrested on 25 April while attempting to bypass a staff security checkpoint during the lunch hour break.
  • Douglas Garikayi Mutoredzanwa: Detained on 23 April after displaying suspicious behaviour, including mishandling X-rays, which led to the discovery of an outstanding warrant related to a 2019 case.

Legal Proceedings

All three individuals appeared before the Harare Magistrates Court, and legal proceedings are underway to address their cases.
