HOLY TEN’S PROUD FATHER GETS MIXED FAN REVIEWS

Laura Maposa

HOLY Ten appears to have split the opinion of fans who are giving mixed reviews in the initial reaction to his latest album.

He dopped ‘Proud Father’ yesterday and the initial response, on line, is mixed.

A number of fans feel there is little to differentiate his latest project and previous albums.

The album features Michael Magz, Mr Candy, Yung Gemini, Noluntu J and Lord Edward. He told H-Metro that this is his best album by far but he doesn’t appear to have received universal acknowledgement and the fans are heavily divided.

Some of the songs on the project are ‘Handina Hope’, ‘The Devil Is A Liar’, ‘Kilimanjaro’, ‘Kepele ne Close’, ‘Hakusi Kufembera’, ‘Munyaviri’ and ‘Ndirikurwadziwa.’

Below are some of the comments made by local music fans:

Saintfloew featured Kwesta, Voltz featured Makhadzi and Emtee. Guess what? They all flopped and Holy Ten made four hit songs. — lamzachary06

This is average. No enthusiasm, no passion, same message, poor sound quality. I just think he should have taken more time making this, any way he’s Holy Ten, we love him. — nchipamba19

Many might not like his questionable behaviour but you can’t hate the guy’s art. He’s on another level artistically. — Know the Law

Same rhythm every album. — Tawandagwati

I just feel like all his albums have one flow. His albums are now predictable. His music is good but we can’t call it hiphop, I refuse, it can never be rap. — sirvelasco_

Sounds like dancehall, like rumba. He is not even rapping on all songs. — maverickunruly

Let’s be honest. Holy sounds the same every album. Apa album iri is his worst. Go and listen and come back to this comment. This album does not have a hit. — demiks1

Holy Ten is good but this is not hip-hop, he ain’t the king of hip-hop he is the king of Afrobeats in Zimbabwe. Holy ten haimbe hip hop, let’s agree as a nation that he is an Afrobeats king. Voltz is the king of hip hop. — cribdads 2h

Holy Ten’s album is proving that his talent Is much bigger than any marketing strategy. Well done Kingman Holy Ten. — Clemence Hwedza Tata
