UPCOMING Jiti musician, Baba Gweru, says the sky is the limit in his quest to be a star.

He has taken social media by storm with his energetic moves and music.

The 25-year-old musician is currently riding on a wave after his two latest releases titled ‘Babe Am Sorry’ and ‘Hamuna Cash’.

“I am still new in the circles after I only started singing in August 2020, my first song was ‘Hamuna Cash,’ which was featured by Gift Amuli.

“I grew up listening to jiti music and developed a strong liking for it, which led me to write my own songs,” said Baba Gweru.

“I am a product of Zvishavane Sounds (Chitoto) and I am currently working with one of the best producers in Zimbabwe called Mtj Beats (Martin Ncube) here in Gweru.

“I feel I have what it takes to take jiti music to the world and the fans are now appreciating my music,” he said.

Baba Gweru also revealed that he is set to release his debut EP later this month.

His seven-track project will feature songs like ‘Chururu’, ‘Rova Jiti’, ‘Handidzoke’, ‘Vhura Poto’, ‘Baba Gweru’, ‘Ukanzwa Ngoma’ and ‘Eriya’.

Baba Gweru won his first accolade with YAFM and this has boosted his confidence ahead of what he feels will be a bright career.

He says he has over 120 songs that are yet to be released.
