PETER Ndlovu has given the biggest hint that he wants to play a part in helping lift Zimbabwean football back to where it used to be in the past.

The former Warriors captain’s name has been featuring among those who are expected to fight for the ZIFA presidency at elections set for January.

Yesterday, Ndlovu had breakfast with Temba Mliswa, who has also hinted he will fight for the ZIFA presidency, in Johannesburg.

Mliswa said he will not contest for the ZIFA presidency should Ndlovu throw his name into the hat.

“One thing I would like to tell you is that if Peter wanted to be the president and I was contesting, I will step down because I have the utmost respect for him,” said Mliswa.

“I just want you to know anybody else I will contest but Peter, no, I will stand down.

“He is football, he put Zimbabwe on the map, he has been our ambassador for many years.”
