UPCOMING hip-hop and drill artist, Trevor Gevha, is set to release his debut EP dubbed ‘Avatar’ on Saturday.

Born and bred in Norton, Trevor (22), said he draws inspiration from industry heavyweights such as Voltz JT, Saintfloew and Fivio Foreign.

He said their works have helped him refine his sound and craft to reflect the realities of his upbringing.

He said the EP will consist of four tracks and there are collaborations with local artists such as Zulian, H²O, Foreign and Baby Fraze.

“Seeing Voltz JT as one of my favourite artists, who inspired me to follow my passion for music, I decided to make use of his unique sense of art in the foundation of beats, Afro, drill and hip-hop.

“The blend of his sound and voice touched my heart and that is what made me start my own musical journey.

“During my recording journey, I saw that I could also mix genres in order to produce a masterpiece that is unique and matches what the industry demands as these days one has to experiment with various sounds instead of sticking to one genre.

“My music is about telling my story, sharing my experiences and inspiring others to stay true to themselves.

“I’m grateful to the fellow artists who worked with me on this EP, it means a lot to me since it’s my debut and it makes the journey easier as they guided me with their expertise.

“I’m hoping to stay true to myself and my roots as I enter the industry as this will earn me recognition and respect from my fans and industry insiders alike,” said Trevor.
